Hawk Mountain Sanctuary
One of America's foremost bird watching sites, nearby Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is a 2200 acre bird refuge where bald eagles, ospreys, broad-winged hawks and other rare species have soared for centuries. Thousands of ornithologists and nature lovers from around the world visit annually to observe these beautiful creatures in their natural environment. Views from Hawk Mountain's many observation peaks are stunning. The solitude of the surrounding forest is broken only by the appearance of a deer or other woodland resident. The entire area is laced with hiking trails and cross-country ski routes. Visit www.hawkmountain.org for special anniversary events and additional information.
